D Robert Miles - Fable: The music of Actraiser is rather purist classical and symphonic stuff, not really my favorite soundtracks, especially as the original versions, but the later symphonic live arrangements are rather good. Unfortunately the original soundtrack doesn't have some of the best songs. There are some funky basslines and beautiful improvised melodies. Actraiser - I think the Actraiser soundtracks are his best-known compositions, although he has done a lot of other stuff too. Accuface - Pure Energy

D Robert Miles - Fable: Koji Kondo especially Super Mario - the Super Mario soundtracks are quite jazzy in general, but the Super Mario World original soundtrack has around ten amazing 'real' jazz performances of the songs. In some songs there's also a hint of rock some fusion-sounding mnagoo solos and even reggae. All right, when I was thinking of an artist beginning with N to post in the Music game topic, I came across jangoo composer of e.
Just the peak of the iceberg Naoto Shibata Castlevania - there's for example an album called Perfect Selection: There are some funky basslines and beautiful improvised melodies. The music of Actraiser is rather purist classical and symphonic stuff, not really my favorite soundtracks, nsture as the original versions, but the later symphonic live arrangements are rather good.
Compositionally the songs also have some classical influences which remind me of Yngwie Malmsteen. Rocking Heart, but they have a lot of music from the Wild Arms sequels which I'm not too keen on as I like the original the best.
Mangoi - I think the Actraiser soundtracks are his best-known compositions, although he has done a lot of other stuff too. Lastly some composers whose genre is rather difficult to determine: I then realized that many people might not know how great music there is in some video games!
Dracula Battle, which has heavy metal arrangements of Shibata's songs. Also as the game is set in a world reminiscent of the Wild west, there's a definite influence of Spaghetti western composer Ennio Morricone, Naruke has even directly 'borrowed' some of Morricone's melodies. Souns there any band that is smilar to japanese Sigh? Alex Megane - Hurricane They have released three albums so far, all of which are great.
Broaden your musical horizon!
So, If you like 80's style heavy metal, you might like: Accuface - Pure Energy I as a guitar player especially like some of the guitar solos on the album, they have a style somewhat reminiscent of bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.
Show me the light Example couldn't find a good example mango Actraiser specifically, but this medley id good too: Couple epic trance songs: Unfortunately the original soundtrack doesn't have some of the best songs.
Michiko Naruke Wild Arms - these tracks are a kind of a mixture of classical music and folky ballads, mostly done with classical instrumentation and arrangements. I especially like Uematsu's organ solos which to me sound a lot like some of the stuff Jon Lord did in Deep Purple.
The original soundtracks sounds aren't too great, so there are arranged albums like Music the Best:
